About Rebecca

Rebecca Johnson is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with over twenty years of experience in the social work field.  For the past nine years, she has worked with individuals of all ages in a family physician's office, expanding her practice beyond her primary focus on adults and older adults.

Rebecca's expertise lies in individual adult care, including experience in home and medical settings such as hospice and peritoneal dialysis care.  She is passionate about empowering individuals to rediscover their strengths and develop new skills and tools to manage life's challenges.

By creating a safe space built on empathy and active listening, Rebecca ensures her clients feel heard and understood.  She utilizes motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy to address a range of concerns, including sadness, anxiety, grief and loss, spiritual exploration, caregiving responsibilities, relationship issues, stress management, substance use concerns, and navigating healthcare and medical environments.

Additionally, Rebecca is knowledgeable about community resources available for mental health, substance use, and financial difficulties.
